I finished this last night. It made fair light reading but did not stand up to Bangkok 8 in mood, character, and focus. Most of what is enjoyable here is lifted more or less directly from the earlier book. Burdett writes well and can come close to winning over the reader on that strength alone. I would like to see something as fresh as Bangkok 8 next time. Would a change of venue help?
